rebuild - Section 2

The 12 point roll cage including the cage bars on the inside of the doors are complete. The fiberglass trunk lid plus a larger spoiler are installed. An adjustable acrylic section will be included to rear wing to increase the height and down-force and also allow for visibility to the rear.   We used the steering/pedal assembly from the 2012 SS Camaro which required quite a bit of sheet metal surgery to allow it to fit and bolt it into the firewall of the 70 Camaro. 

Driveshaft & headers

Sergio at Driveshaft Pro was outstanding. He immediately knew how to set the drive shaft up for my HP and for the 2012 Camaro TR6060 transmission and 1970 12 bolt Chevy rear end

 

Speed Engineering headers are well made, they fit my LS3 to 1970 Camaro frame rails and are a great value.

 

ACT clutch

  

I discovered that it had an ACT clutch, what a great bonus. It has dual disks and can easily handle my 600hp LS3.  I called act, 206 East Avenue K4
Lancaster, CA 93535, 661/940-7555 and spoke to Mike a few times. He was terrific and helped me identify the ACT clutch model and provided information to get the setup up adjusted as we reinstalled it. I highly recommend ACT and Mike was most helpful!

 

 

The LS3 was rebuilt by Tony at TG’s Performance Engine Shop, a local custom machine shop with a great reputation. Tony, changed the cam, ported and polished the heads and matched them, added a larger throttle body, changed multiple other parts as well as checking at the bottom end.
