The concept for my car was a road racing track car that I can run competitively and have fun with friends on open track days, plus enjoy it on the street for cruising and car shows, etc.
Details for my 1970 Z28 IROC Camaro for road race tracks and car shows include a 600+hp LS with long tube headers and 3" collectors/exhaust. A lowered Ridetech race suspension with all coil overs, a 4 link rear suspension, new a-arms and spindles, a Turn One Performance Steering box, and big Wilwood calipers with 6 & 4 piston brakes. A Detroit true tracker rear end with upgraded axels, C-clip eliminator, better bearings, and reinforcements. A 12 point cage that extends from the rear shock towers to the front sub frame, Sparco race seats and 5 point harnesses, with lots of fabrication, fiberglass and metal work with good friends John & Paul. Jongbloed racing wheels-18x11 & 18x13, Toyo R888R tires 315-30-18 & 335-30-18. a full fiberglass front end-hood/fenders/bumpers, fiberglass IROC flares, fiberglass trunk with custom spoiler modifications blended into the body, blended fiberglass rear bumper, custom aluminum dash, Racepak Data System display dash, a Lexan rear window. The aluminum engine, fiberglass body replacements, plus a stripped interior, etc., has reduced the weight by several hundred pounds. There's so much more with all the custom fabrication and unique features built in. It even has Vintage Air installed for cooling and heating the cockpit....
The rear Lexan spoiler is adjustable to balance downforce on the track
The paint is color sanded, buffed, and waxed. There's only a short list of items to make all the final details come together. Interior door panels, custom window cranks, and so on. However, as we know, they're never completely finished as we continue to improve and modify along the way.... Then onto track tuning.
